DAVID SIMS SOLUTIONS SALES SPECIALIST, DYNABOOK EUROPE  

David Sims was appointed Solutions Sales Specialist for Dynabook Europe in June 2017. David’s role focuses on driving sales of Dynabook’s security and IoT solutions, including innovative mobile solutions for IoT/M2M and edge computing. He also manages the development of Dynabook’s Partner Ecosystem.  David brings with him 22 years’ experience in the telecommunications business, having started his career working at Nokia where he held various management positions in technical sales. He also worked as an Account Manager for Huawei Technologies and worked as a Pre-Sales Consultant and Solution Sales Specialist for Vodafone Global Enterprise.   David has a degree in Electronic Communication Engineering from the University of Plymouth.

Many fear that new technologies will take our jobs and increase inequality. But data tell a different story. Unemployment has not increased over the long run. Firms that adopt robots hire more workers, not less. Why haven’t robots not taken our jobs? What effects should we expect in the future? In this talk about the future of work, economist Joonas Tuhkuri discusses why work does not end and provides a surprising answer. The talk will draw from the latest research at MIT and elsewhere and helps each of us understand why there are still jobs.

MIXED REALITY TO TAKE BODY MEASUREMENTS

In co-operation with Softability, Keuda’s textile and fashion program developed Mixed Reality work instructions for students to take body measurements. Careful taking of measurements is the basis of well-fitting formulas and the clothing made with them. In the EDUTECH DISRUPTION 2022 DAY Event Teacher Riitta Niemi and vocational tutor Aija Ilola will show how the solution works. Mr. Mikko Luukkonen will talk about the technology and the new learning it enables.

ROBOCUP INTERNATIONAL ROBOTICS CASE, Katriina Lammi, Pernille Bjerre, Kim Juul Jensen

Being aware of robot related hazards, and being able to identify and reduce them, is a skill developed in RoboCup. Learning takes place in a series of 5-day-long Micro Challenges. The first Micro Challenge “Get a Grip” was about designing, documenting, 3D-printing and presenting a gripper. Come and meet some staff to find out how it went, what we learned, and what’s to come! #robocupinvet
