Preparatory Education and Training Programme TUVA
TUVA’s (Tutkintokoulutukseen valmentava koulutus) goal is to give the student the skills to apply for a vocational qualification or general upper secondary education, to guide the preparation of a further study and work life plan, and to strengthen the student’s prerequisites for later completing a vocational upper secondary qualification or a general upper secondary education and the matriculation examination at the end of it.
The applicant’s Finnish language skills should be at such a level that the applicant would benefit from preparatory training and has the opportunity to achieve the necessary skills for studying a vocational qualification. The teacher shall assess whether the applicant’s language skills are sufficient for studies. In Keuda, it is possible to study the Finnish language with more emphasis in the TUVA programme implemented in the Järvenpää Sibeliuskenväylä and Kerava Sarviniittykatu locations.
‘Finnish as a second language’ subject studies
Finnish as a second language is also taught as a subject in Keuda’s basic education for adults. It is intended for you who have already completed primary school or for some other reason full-time study in primary school is not necessary, but you need to strengthen your Finnish language skills.

A start to the Finnish language, education and work
This folk high school education programme (in Finnish Startti suomen kieleen, koulutukseen ja työhön) is a good start to the Finnish language, education and work. The training is suitable for immigrants who need to strengthen their Finnish language and communication skills as well as study and career guidance in order to transition to education or working life.
